Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Business Innovation and Growth
Our brand new Higher Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to ignite your future enabling you to earn while you learn and giving you the knowledge and skills to make a real difference to an employer.
As a Higher Apprentice you will identify and implement innovative ideas and processes that will help your employer compete and grow in a dynamic business environment.
Our Higher Apprenticeship is part of the Peter Jones Foundation’s Ignite apprenticeship programme. Since the apprenticeship was approved, over the last 12 months we have been undertaking a campaign of intensive capacity building with employers, providers and apprentices to launch this product into the market place. This is so that we can support apprentices to become great innovators in the world of business, which will drive growth and help stabilise the economic recovery.
The course has been designed to work across a diverse range of organisations of any size in the private, public or third sector. Job roles will vary according to the nature and size of the organisation, some examples of roles are:
- Product Development Executive - generating and testing ideas, reviewing processes, researching products and markets
- Business Development Executive - contributing to the development of new business opportunities and new products
- Project Executive - researching, planning, implementing and monitoring projects
Whatever your role, you will learn about the different ways in which organisations innovate and grow. By developing and implementing your innovative ideas and applying them through projects agreed with your employer.
In designing the apprenticeship we recognised that each will vary according to its industry and job role so ours is flexible and includes optional units ranging from marketing and strategic planning to the use of technology in business. This allows your employer to design your course around you, your specific employment objectives and their needs.
Our first cohort of Level 5 apprentices have started at Westminster Kingsway College and are working for a range of businesses, from large corporates to SMEs, including Grant Thornton UK LLP, Jessops and Waltham Estates.
